Dia de los Muertos mural by Kolby Anderson in an alley by the building of Living Arts of Tulsa. #264170821
Description
Pictured is a Dia de los Muertos mural by Kolby Anderson in an alley by the building of Living Arts of Tulsa. A common symbol of the holiday is the skull, or in Spanish, the calavera. The Mexican illustrator Jose Guadalupe Posada created a style of calaveras in which costumed figures would be given a skeleton face. Celebrants represent these skulls in masks called calacas, as seen in this mural. The marigolds in the woman`s hair are the traditional flowers used to honor the dead.
